BHUBANESWAR: All the differently abled persons in Odisha would now receive monthly pension irrespective of their age under the Madhu Babu Pension Yojana (MBPY).

At present, the differently-abled receive monthly pension of Rs 300 only after attaining five years.The decision was taken at a high power meeting here headed by chief minister Naveen Patnaik at the secretariat.

Naveen also directed officials to ensure that genuine beneficiaries should not face any harassment in getting their dues under the MBPY.Over 13.25 lakh people including old age persons, widows, differently abled and people suffering from diseases like AIDS and leprosy are receiving monthly pension under MBPY..
